Wire Mesh Origami [Fabric Metals ORIAMI] or origami made out of wire netting, is a product developed by Ishikawa Wire Netting through their specialized knowledge on wire net production.
"ORIAMI" is starting to become a popular medium among various creators, who incorporate the flexible yet solid material into their works.
Ms. Yoshiko Inaba, who is a designer, is also using Oriami to create beautiful art pieces.
Ms. Inaba, a fiber artist, has explored textiles as a material for a long time. However, since last year, Ms. Inaba has started to use metallic materials including Oriami to create art that explores the fusion between natural, organic colors and metallic textures.
From September 29th (Saturday) to October 13th (Saturday), the art gallery GALLERYGALLERY in Kyoto-shi will host a Yoshiko Inaba exhibition "Shuujitsu Rakuyou (Fallen Trees on an Autumn Day)."
Moreover, the Chuo (Central) Library at Aichi Prefecture's Nagakute-shi will hold the Aichi University of the Arts Department of Design Reunion Exhibition "Kisou (Returning to the Nest)" from October 10th (Wednesday) to October 21st (Sunday), where Ms. Inaba's work will also be displayed.
Please enjoy the breath-taking artwork that manipulates Oriami into beautiful, delicate figures.
